Boys Middle School Basketball Game, today, 4pm, here @ Stanton! Goodluck WildCats!

Stanton's Picture Retakes are tomorrow! If your child needs a retake send them in with their smile!

The 4th graders toured the Quincy Mine as part of their study about the Keweenaw’s copper mining history. They learned that the mine had 92 levels and the shaft was 9,000 feet deep. The tour took the 4th graders in on the seventh level & they learned that the entrance was called an adit because it comes in from the side rather than above. The adit was constructed by Michigan Tech & contains a small stream which allows all the water from the flooded levels below to exit the mine.

When you are here for conferences... Stop in and check out the book sale in the library! Also, don't forget to check the lost and found, and if your children could use a jacket, look for their size on the rack by the lost and found. And of course, enjoy a cup of coffee and some bakery! We look forward to seeing you!

E.B. Holman book sale! Stop in the library, November 8 and 9th during conferences and bring a gift home for the kids! Or bring your children and let them peruse while you visit with their teacher! All books are sold by donation. Proceeds will go toward future author visits and library needs.

We will be having a Veterans Day Assembly in E.B. Holman Gymnasium on November 10th at 10:15am.

Mr. Kulju's 1st grade carved up some Jack-o'-lanterns with beautiful pumpkins from our school garden. Students made predictions on which pumpkins would have the most seeds and then counted each one during the carving process. The class had a chance to enjoy some roasted seeds the next day. In addition, the class read a book titled, Pumpkin Jack and learned about the lifecycle of the pumpkin. Similar to the book, students took their Jack-o'-lanterns (some with raw seeds intact) out and placed them on the compost pile to see what might happen as the pumpkins decompose and just maybe start the cycle over again next year.
