We want to thank all of our sponsors and everyone who came out to the 30th annual E.B. Holman Country Jamboree! Each year, our fabulous PTO organizes this fun event. This year was a great success with around $4,400 raised to support our students and teachers! We are so very grateful!
The Stanton Wildcat boys' basketball team traveled down to Baraga last night to take on the towering Baraga Vikings. With an impressive defense, the Wildcats were able to limit the Vikings offense and took home the victory with a score of 30 to 22! Way to go Wildcats! The boys' will be heading up to Lake Linden to take on the Lakes Monday, November 6th at 4:00. ***(Pictures are from the 10/30 game.)

Parent-teacher conferences are coming up! Conferences will be held on November 8th, 12:30- 3:30 and 6-8pm and on November 9th, 12:30 - 3:30pm. The TV6 Canathon is on! The classes will be competing against each other to see who brings in the largest amount of nonperishable food items per student!
*November 17th - the class who has the largest amount of items per student as of November 17th wins an ice cream party!
*December 1st- the class who collects the largest amount of items per student between November 18th and December 1st wins a pizza party!

We would like to thank everyone who came to school this morning to watch our Halloween Parade! It was a lot of fun to see all of the creative costumes and gigantic smiles!
Back in mid October, Mr. Kulju's class went outside to make scientific observations in the forest surrounding the school. While on their adventure, students made observations of animal activity, seasonal changes, and weather. Each month the class ventures out to repeat these observations and record their findings. Data is compared month to month, and patterns and changes are noted. Way to go, young scientists!
Students at E.B. Holman had very special guests visit them at school Friday afternoon. The Stanton Township Fire Department came and shared some great tips on fire safety around the kitchen and home in general. In addition to learning about fire safety, students were given the opportunity to try out some of the specialized equipment that helps keep our brave firefighters safe and assist them when they are fighting fires and rescuing people. A BIG WILDCAT THANK YOU to the Stanton Township Fire Department and all of the first responders who rush to the aid of those in need and help keep us safe.

The Wildcats wrapped up the season tonight as they battled the Jeffers Jets in the Dennis Massoglia Memorial 8th Grade Tournament. Although the team finished with a loss, the team had a successful season with wins against Dollar Bay, Ontonagon, Lake Linden, and the CIA. We are proud of our team and the SISU they exhibited throughout the season. Thanks goes out to coach Shannon Loukus and her assistant Jacqueline Loukus! The boys' season starts tomorrow. Go Wildcats!

Students in Mrs. Marcotte's kindergarten class went on a fun fall field trip to a local farm. They got to feed farm animals, launch apples with a giant sling shot, check out an old tractor and pose for pictures. Mrs. Marcotte also had fall snacks (apple cider, popcorn, and apple donuts) to share with the class.
The 4th graders took a field trip to the Keweenaw National Historical Park today. They did a walking tour around Calumet to see the places described in the book Living on Sisu. Some of the places included the Italian Hall site, Agassiz Park, several churches, Big Annie's house, and the Miscowau Club. They also visited the National Park's visitor center. In case you want an interesting place to tour, it's open to the public every Saturday from 10AM-2PM. Admission is free.
The Wildcats traveled up to Calumet to take on the Dollar Bay Blue Bolts at the Dennis Massoglia Memorial 8th Grade Tournament. The girls played a great game of basketball and came away with a big time win. They will be playing again Thursday against the Jeffers Jets in Calumet at 5:00 p.m.. We encourage everyone to come cheer on our team as they wrap up their 2023 season. Go Wildcats!
